We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and experienced Leader to join our team as an Accounts Receivable Supervisor!

The successful individual will be a confident and assertive, 'out of the box' thinker, and who is a craft beer fan! We are looking for an individual who exhibits a high level of professionalism, and adaptability to changing business priorities, supervising and leading the team to ensure that work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

This role will supervise and coordinate accounts receivables activities in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate processing and monitoring of the company receivables operations. Activities include payment processing and application, monitoring deliveries daily to ensure compliance with ABC regulations, collections, and proper filing and storage of records.

 

 Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee the day to day processing of Accounts Receivable transactions and Collections.

  • Assure timely and accurate invoicing that comply with ABC regulations.

  • Manage cash application making sure all cash receipts are applied properly and timely.

  • Monitors receivables for past due accounts and communicates this information to the Customer, Sales Rep or Route Driver to ensure that beer delivery is not made, unless COD.

  • Contacts customers whose accounts have missed invoices, short payments, or are in arrears.

  • Make recommendations to improve quality of invoicing and collection procedures where gaps or areas of risk may occur.

  • Keep abreast of ABC regulations, industry and legislative changes to ensure the receivables department maintains compliance.

  • Traces source and corrects customer accounts for errors in billing rates, misapplied credits, or identifying information, such as name and address received from customer.

  • Communicate frequently with drivers, customers, and sales reps.

  • Receive and apply payments on customer accounts.

  • Validate bad debt and recommend write offs.

  • Maintain customer files and other paper records.

  • Customer statement reconciliation.

  • Print and distribute reports.

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.

  • Maintain confidentiality concerning financial files.

  • Assist with testing system enhancements and implementations.

  • Drive process improvements.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of 4.

  • Setting objectives for the account receivable team that align with the accounting department’s and company goals.

  • Allocate use of available resources and delegate work duties to staff while anticipating future department resource needs.

  • Evaluate work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies

  • Provide training and development opportunities.

 

 

 Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or college coursework in accounting, business, or related field.

  • At least 5 years of related experience and/or training in high volume receivables processing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have at least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.

  • Must have a proven track record handling and prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.

  • Must have strong customer service skills.

  • Must be a strong and accurate listener as well as an excellent communicator, both oral and written.

  • Requires a certain degree of creativity and latitude based on an increased knowledge and understanding of internal policies and procedures.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Experience using VLookups and pivot tables is a must.

  • Must have experience in using accounting software and reporting systems, preferably an ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics AX.

  • Travel Requirements: occasional travel required to other Stone locations
