We are looking for a pastry cook that is serious about building a career in the restaurant industry and a strong team player with a 'do whatever it takes' attitude.

You will be responsible for executing a high volume production pastry menu including desserts for multiple restaurants, catering and special events that includes plated desserts, pretzels, breakfast pastry and brownies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assinged.

  • Complete opening and closing checklists.

  • Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties.

  • Understands and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, baking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.

  • Portions food products prior to baking according to standard recipe specifications.

  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, walls, ovens, stoves and refrigeration equipment.

  • Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.

  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.

  • Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to Pastry Chef or Kitchen Manager

  • Inform Pastry Chef or Stone’s Kitchen Manager immediately of product shortages.

  • Uses our Standard Recipe for preparing all products.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Pastry Chef

Ideally, you will have a minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking in a high volume environment. Must be open to working with organic, free-range, and eco-friendly ingredients on a non-traditional menu. Must have a current San Diego County Food Handler's Card.
