Facilities Manager

Stone Brewing Co. is in search of an exceptional Facilities Manager who will ensure effective customer service oriented facilities management across the company’s U.S. portfolio of production, distribution, Hospitality and administrative facilities. Plan, define, and respond to the company’s facilities management needs, including emergency preparedness and business continuity, environmental stewardship and sustainability, ergonomics, operations and maintenance, quality, real estate and property management, and technology. 

Qualified candidates must not only be passionate about our craft but for execution of responsibilities as well.  Qualified candidates have significant depth and breadth of facilities management experience, are seasoned operators, influencers, and collaborators with a focus on execution and total cost management.

Responsibilities include:

    • Provide centralized facilities management services, with responsibilities for the day to day operation of multiple buildings, taking steps to both prevent business interruptions as well as responding to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise, acting as the primary contact for all regional personnel for building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, repairs, ADA, environmental needs), maintaining list of contacts able to respond to all facilities issues.  

    • Manage, monitor and/or provide guidance/information to outside contractors for facilities related repairs as needed.  

    • Plan, review and execute contracts for service, repairs or improvements as necessary and maintain good working relationships with service providers. 

    • Perform hands-on maintenance tasks as well as testing, inspection, cleaning, project management and supervising work of contracted resources as required. Performs minor electrical maintenance (wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) and minor plumbing maintenance (repair of leaks, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools; determines when a licensed professional is required. 

    • Plan and manage overall space allocation and changes toffice layouts.  Re-configures, installs, positions, and remounts modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks. 

    • Plan for future facilities needs in line with strategic business objectives. Investigate availability and suitability of options for new premises, ensuring buildings meet health, safety, and functional requirements. 

    • Manage activities related to facility infrastructure, including evaluation of new facilities as well as repair and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of existing facilities.  Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect needed maintenance or repairs. 

    • Use web-based maintenance program to manage, develop, create and/or complete PM schedules and work order request processing.   

    • Partner with Procurement, Legal Counsel, and Accounts Payable to implement, manage, review and maintain facility related contracts. Monitor contractor performance and ensure work is completed according to specifications.  

    • Partner with Safety to assure the safety of employees, supporting the relevant policies and procedures for health and safety, security, hazardous materials, fire safety equipment, disposal and record keeping.  Participate in injury and near-miss accidents investigations to minimize recurrence. 

    • Partner with EngineeringProduction, IT, and Maintenance to develop/support preventive maintenance programs. 

    • Establish annual capital improvement budgets for remodeling and/or upgrades to existing facilities. 

    • Support development of business continuity plans.

    Supervisory Responsibilities 

    Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees and assisting with planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Provides regular performance feedback and coaching to direct reports including reviews.

    • Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.   

    • Experience: At least 5 years of related experience and/or training in facilities management at the managerial level, including experience managing contractors.  Experience in multi -site facilities management a plus. Must have significant experience and ability to use powered and non-powered tools, ability to operate equipment such as scissor lift and forklift. Experience in the coordination and project management of outside contractors or vendors for various services. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with executing routine building maintenance tasks in multiple fields (carpentry, electrical, HVACR, plumbing, etc.). Must have experience effectively communicating with all employees, co-workers, contractors and vendors using excellent interpersonal skills.  

    • Computer Skills: Proficient with MS Office Suite: (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project).   

    • Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsCertified Facility Manager (CFM) or Certified Plant Maintenance Manager (CPMM) credential or equivalent is strongly desired.  

    • Language Skills: Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written.  

    • Travel Requirements: Regular travel required to other Stone building locations as well as hardware or parts stores.
