Commercialization Manager

This individual is a dynamic leader with the ability to connect consumer, category and customer strategies and develop them into best in class commercial initiatives that deliver against Stone Brewing business objectives. This individual will work cross-functionally with marketing, sales and finance to develop and execute commercial strategies for all Stone Brewing beers.  This person plays an integral role in new beer development, leading cross-functional teams in managing through the stages of innovation to deliver new beers effectively into the marketplace.  The Commercialization Manager is also the point person for managing the successful in-market commercialization of these beers – from coordinating communication of the opportunity to Field Sales and our Distributor partners, to making certain that all support materials and assets for new beer launches (ex: sales materials, POS materials) are tracking for on-time delivery in order to maximize in-market results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.  

  • Lead cross-functional teams through the executional stages of new beer development and release, ensuring on-time delivery of beers into the marketplace
  • Lead cross-functional teams to insure that all components for the commercial launch of beer releases, from initial sales materials to in-market launch tools and assets, are delivered on time to maximize the launch of the beer
  • Work with marketing and sales teams to implement commercial programs for our consumers, retailers and the distributors
  • Identify trends and opportunities within various channels of business and help design initiatives to capitalize on category trends
  • Develop selling materials & tools from 1-pager sell sheets to category & customer selling presentations
  • Communicate monthly & Trimester commercial operations plans to field sales organization
  • Utilize Nielsen, VIP, and other data platforms to track and analyze business performance and commercial execution
  • Assist in annual business planning work from volume analysis to sources of growth planning
  • Support National Point of Sales (POS) production & inventory management, including merchandising equipment & POS orders
  • Manage annual commercial budget
  • Assist with financial analysis as needed
  • Execute ad-hoc projects on an as-needed basis

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Experience:
    • At least 5 years of related experience in project or product management, with ideal being leading new product development
    • At least 3 years of directly related work experience and/or training developing and executing commercialization plans in support of consumer packaged goods
  • Computer Skills: Strong skill-set with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, in addition to Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Language Skills: Must have exceptional communication abilities in English, both in spoken and written word.
  • Travel Requirements: occasional travel required to other Stone locations and/or events
