Sales Events Manager - Napa

We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Events Sales professional to join our Banquets and Events Team!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Achieves targeted sales goals through the regular solicitation and promotion of event and banquet space through professional networking and/or other grassroots marketing initiatives, conducting outside sales calls to prospective customers, maintaining relationships with prior clients, and working in collaboration with the Napa management team on visiting local and neighboring businesses.
  • Negotiates final pricing of all events, prepares applicable contracts, and secures customer signatures.
  • Creates all location-specific BEOs, obtaining all event specifications and pertinent information concerning the event, including but not limited to, guaranteed number attending, scheduled flow of events, and menu.
  • Effectively communicates BEO specifications to the Napa management and events teams to ensure flawless execution of all booked events and banquets.
  • Regularly reviews upcoming BEOs and communicates changes as applicable to the Napa management and events teams.
  • Maintains and publishes the Napa events calendar.
  • Updates banquet menu offerings in collaboration with the General Manager/Executive Chef and/or culinary team to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Communicates inter-departmentally as necessary to ensure all involved parties have a complete understanding of their roles and responsibilities regarding each event.
  • Requisitions or otherwise procures special equipment and/or supplies (i.e. televisions, projectors) needed for each event, ensuring that they meet customer expectations and requirements.
  • Inspects event room prior to the start of each event as needed. Checks room setup, menu, service staff, etc., conforms to the BEO.
  • Provides a financial recap for all events sent to appropriate management personnel as instructed.
  • Manages post-event debriefing discussions involving the positives and negatives of the event and notes for improvement for the next year as needed, and maintain a file of all meeting notes.
  • Conducts other duties, responsibilities and activities as assigned.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA) or preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of related event management experience and/or training in the food/beverage service, sales or restaurant/hotel industry.
    • Expert knowledge of ABC laws for legal sale of alcohol.
    • Possess knowledge of service, food, and beverage industry.
    • Prior event sales experience desired.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Previous experience with Point of Sale systems is a must.
  • Language Skills: Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written.
  • Travel Requirements: Must have reliable transportation as this role requires occasional travel to events and other Stone locations as well as local businesses.
